Alcoholics Anonymous - General Service Office
Children of Alcoholics Foundation
Promotes public and professional awareness of the problems of children of alcoholics and disseminates new research findings to break the vicious cycle of family alcoholism. Operates a helpline which provides referrals to national and local self-help, counseling groups, and treatment agencies.
COSSMHO
A national nonprofit coalition of Hispanic organizations, focusing on health and human services, substance abuse prevention, and family strengthening.
Family Development Resources, Inc.
Stresses Nurturing Programs as validated approaches designed to replace violence towards children and others with nurturing, caring attitudes and skills.
Girls and Boys Town
A resource and referral service for troubled children and parents. Its hotline operates 24-hours-a-day, seven-days-a-week with highly trained, professional operators. Also has emergency shelter services, a treatment foster care program, a family preservation program, and parent-training workshops.

Talking With Kids About Tough Issues
A national initiative by Children Now and the Kaiser Family Foundation to encourage parents to talk with their children earlier and more often about tough issues like sex, HIV/AIDS, violence, alcohol, and drug abuse.
